KCB head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’Otieno has learnt a lesson from their 2-1 loss against Gor Mahia in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Sunday, September 22.

Speaking at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos where the match was played, Zico said his boys played well, save for a defensive error which cost them the points. He also noted a concentration lapse among his players- a thing he says they will work on before they face Kakamega Homeboyz in their next league duty.

“We had a change in the defense but going forward I know that’s something we can work on. We just need to concentrate more during our coming matches in order to win. We are already looking forward to our next game with the hope of picking three points,” he said.

The former Kenya international defender insisted that his boys could have not lost the match if they utilized all their chances.

“It was a game of two halves. They (Gor Mahia) had their shares in the first half by controlling the midfield and we also tried to seal the midfield loopholes in the second half but am not happy because we wasted a lot of scoring opportunities. If you look at their goals (Gor Mahia’s), you’ll agree that they were two gifted goals,” he said while insisting that, “If you don’t defend well (against your opponent) then it is very difficult for you to win matches.”

KCB are now placed on the seventh position of the log with four points from three matches.
