Embu Catholic Diocese Bishop Paul Kariuki has called on the Catholic faithful to support DP Ruto and his development agenda.
Speaking at St. Peters and Paul Catholic church on Sunday morning, bishop Kariuki observed that the Deputy President’s trips across the country were yielding results and the country was warming up to his good works.
The bishop defended Ruto’s development records adding that his deeds were evident.
“They don’t see his good deeds of building the roads, bringing water and connecting most homes to electricity. The ‘bee’ is overworking. Deputy President endelea kutanga tanga hakuna shida ( continue transversing the country, there is no problem),” stated Kariuki amid cheers from the congregation.
He advised the DP to continue supporting God’s work as well as working for the people of Kenya adding that when the time comes in 2022, Kenyans will appreciate his good deeds.
Kariuki told off the Kieleweke team which is against William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid maintaining that they will be surprised when the time comes.
Ruto has been in Embu for the better part of the weekend launching and commissioning different development projects in the region.
On Saturday, most leaders from the county pulled their weight behind Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
The leaders pledged their loyalty to the DP saying they won’t shift the region’s political allegiance.
“We have thrown our weight behind Dr Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid, we shall not retreat,” said Mr Njagagua, insisting that Kenya required a strong and youthful Head of State.
Embu Senator Njeru Ndwiga praised Dr. Ruto as a hard-working leader who has contributed enormously to the growth of Kenya.
The soft-spoken Senator Kenyans to reciprocate by electing him as the next President when President Uhuru Kenyatta retires.
Among those who promised to back Ruto from the region included Runyenjes Member of Parliament Cecily Mbarire (nominated), Mbeere North MP Muriuki Njagagua, Mbeere South MP Geoffrey King’ang’i, John Muchiri (Manyatta), Eric Muchangi (Runyenjes) and Kimani Ichung’wa (Kikuyu)
