Leopards Leap to Digital Fails as Much-Hyped App Crashes

AFC Leopards’ much-hyped mobile app launched at the end of last month with a view of transforming the club (off the pitch) has crashed.

Club chairman Dan Shikanda has confirmed to Opera News that their journey to the digital world has been put on halt, at least for now, following a malicious virus which attacked the app barely a month into action.

“We suspended the operations of the application momentarily because someone hacked it. We are now beefing it up with major security features to ensure that this never happens again. Am sure fans will enjoy it when we finally resume. It will be better by all means,” Shikanda told Opera News.

The app, developed for both Android and iOS users was meant to provide the club’s fans content, and a platform for membership registrations.

“The new app features an array of exclusive content including a friendly portal that will allow fans to register and renew their membership with ease. It also collates the latest news, polls, stats, videos and blogs – and an unrivalled live Match-day experience, including line-ups, up-to-the-second match updates, live blogging, player stats and score updates from rivals,” a statement by the club during the app’s launch read in parts.

Other things that the app was meant to deliver are behind-the-scene player access, quick links for fans to acquire a variety of products such as match-day tickets and official merchandise.

The app also came with a USSD code from which fans would enjoy the same services.
