AFC Leopards rope in Kenya U-17 keeper

CECAFA U17: Kenya wraps up tourney with fourth place finish
Kenyan Premier League giants, AFC Leopards have finally ended their search for a third choice goalkeeper after landing the signature of Kenya U17 national team custodian, Maxwell Mulili.
Ingwe has been short of a keeper after releasing two (Eric Ndayishimiye and Jairus Adira) and signing one, Benjamin Ochan from Kabwe Warriors. The only keeper who was retained in the team after the close of 2018/19 season is former Mt. Kenya United man, Ezekiel Owade.
Mulili, a Mukumu Boys High School alumnus, has been training with AFC Leopards for the last three weeks and Ingwe chairman Dan Shikanda has told Opera News that he has now signed a long-term deal after impressing in training.

“We now have three keepers and those are the ones that we will use for 2019/20 season. Ochan (Benjamin) is our first choice keeper, Owade (Ezekiel) is the second choice and we now have Maxwell a top young keeper,” Shikanda told Goal.
“He has been training with the team and the technical bench is impressed with him. He has signed a long-term deal and I believe he will grow to become a top keeper. He is already a Kenya U17 national team keeper and that speaks volumes about his abilities as a shot-stopper, “Shikanda added.
Mulili’s last national team assignment was in April during the Union of North African Federations (UNAF) U18 Tournament that was stages in Egypt.

He becomes Leopards’ 11th off-season transfer window signing after the arrival of Vincent Habamahoro, Robert Ayala, Soter Kayumba,  Ismaila Diarra, Benjamin Ochan, Tresor Ndikumana, Hansel Ochieng, Collins Shichenje, Vincent Wanda and Collins Shivachi.
