An exchange of fists broke out at Jinja Dam waters when members of the National Youth Council disagreed on dividing Museveni’s Shs 700 millions that he carried himself for them. It’s alleged that many of the youths who attended and vanished away with Museveni money were above the youth age of 35 years.
This is not the first time Museveni carries money for the youths and it vanishes in thin air before reaching the intended recipients, on 20th April 2013 president Museveni carried 250 Millions for Youth SACCOs in Kaliro in a sack but it disappeared in just hours even before he reached Kampala.
According to Dabada Yusuf who attended the meeting with Museveni and is a District youth councilor from Namutumba and Aspiring MP for Busiki constituency on People Power ticket narrates how the “Mafias”disappeared with over Shs400 Milions that was meant to facilitate Youth transport refund who attended the National Youth Day celebrations at St. Gonzaga secondary school in Buwenge in Jinja district and were to wait more two days for the president.
Angry youths were shocked to be told that they would be given 500,000 each not Shs 2 million as expected and fighting sparked off even before the president reached Kampala.
The mafias ran with around 400m meant for youth Councillors and a group of selected leaders from with in jinja since they were the host district. Remember they presented to the president around 900 delegates who were to be facilitated and only 80 youth councilors were present. Said Dabada Yusuf.
The charged youths later left Jinja SSS grounds disappointed as a one Shaft Mukwaya the executive Secretary disappeared in thin air with over shs 400 millions and this has since sparked off mixed reactions from the corridors of power with others claiming the youths who didn’t get Museveni are believed to be belonging to Bobi Wine’s People Power pressure group.
It should be noted that President Museveni has been on a country wide tour campaigning ahead of 2021 elections in the guise Operation Wealth creation and he has been smashing out Money to different people to be endorsed for sole candidature in the next elections.
