Kakamega Homeboyz raid Nzoia Sugar for winger

Kenyan Premier League side, Kakamega Homeboyz have completed the signing of, winger Steven Etyang from Nzoia Sugar on a three-year deal.

Etyang moves to Kakamega after a season with the cash-strapped Sugar Millers where he impressed drawing interested from Western Stima, Kakamega Homeboyz and Ulinzi Stars.

Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has confirmed Etyang’s arrival whilst exuding confidence that the Kakamega High School alumnus will strengthen his team ahead of 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League campaign.

“I can confirm that we have signed Steven Etyang from Nzoia Sugar on a three-year deal. He is a young exciting player who we’ve watched closely for sometime now. I strongly believe that he will improve the team because he is talented, disciplined and hardworking. Many clubs were interested in his services and I am happy that we managed to convince him to join us,” Shimanyula told Opera News.

He further revealed that he will recruit more players to beef up his squad. Without giving names, the football administrator stated that they have identified quality players who will join the team.

“We will have a very good squad next season. We have identified quality players who will join us. Some players are already training with the team but because we haven’t completed all formalities, we are not going to give names,” he added.

Among players linked with Kakamega Homeboyz is Vihiga United trio of Steven Wakanya, Christopher Masinza and Victor Ademba.

Homeboyz begin their 2019/20 campaign against AFC Leopards on 1st September at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County.
