Nigerian international Alex Iwobi sealed a deadline day move from Arsenal to new Premier League moneybags Everton for a reported fee of 40 Million pounds. The attacking midfielder had been at Arsenal for 17 years and graduated from the Academy.
Iwobi’s put in mixed performances last season. He had a very good start to the season but faded away towards the end though to be fair to him, the whole team ended the season badly. He scored the only goal in Arsenal’s infamous loss to Chelsea in the Europa League final.
Despite playing out of position, the Nigerian’s commitment was unquestionable and was one of the most hardworking players for Unai Emery last season. He is a player who divided opinion among Arsenal fans and that was the case immediately the departure was confirmed.
#Iwobi #arsenal it's not gonna be easy to accept our African boy not wearing an @arsenal shirt ever again😥😥😥 I'm feeling sad as fuck I really liked seeing him play he could have been awesome playing as a 10 or 8 but it looks like he will never play that position pic.twitter.com/hRX7X5kDkX

If you are not sad to see Iwobi leave, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Iwobi leaving Arsenal for Everton is like someone that leaves in Canada relocating to Sudan … See ehn, that Arsenal’s coach is a big mumu.

Arsenal selling Iwobi instead of Mkhitaryan is a woeful decision. pic.twitter.com/r9cQb6usLN

Some were however happy to see the player go..
Arsenal did not need to sell Iwobi, he was sold because Emery, Raul an co had decided he is not good enough for the club, an offer came in and they took it, those are the simple facts, no agenda, no hate, he’s just not good enough.

Blame Wenger..
Arsenal still paying for the sins of the previous regime moving Iwobi on because they can't shift Mkhitaryan. But Arsenal's squad issues were always too numerous to fix in one window (which is why I still question the decision to totally write January off). Some pain was likely.

£40m for Alex Iwobi is good money that you can't refuse. He's a misunderstood player and he'll show that at Everton, but I won't lose any sleep over it now that I've thought about it.
It's time for Martinelli, Nelson, Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe to show us what they can do!
