Starehe MP Charles Kanyi alias Jaguar on Thursday became a subject of discussion after a poster of an event he is set to perform on 10th August in a USA club went viral.
The singer cum politician is currently in the US with 85 other legislators attending the largest delegation in the world to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in Nashville, Tennessee.
The legislator’s act of using the official business trip to entertain has caused a stir on social media with many Kenyans arguing that it is unfair of him to spend his time sponsored using taxpayers money for his own gain.
This is coming at a time that that Opposition leader Raila Odinga has faulted the parliament for extorting taxpayers money after spending tens of millions of shillings in a week to pay for the flights and accommodation of a delegation of the 85 legislators and members of staff attending the US legislative assembly while most were only sending between one and six delegates.
A section of Kenyans bashed MPs act arguing that he should have at least taken advantage of his expensive trip to involve in activities that would better the lives of his constituents.
Controversial blogger Robert Alai reacted;
“Jaguar has taken the MPs holiday to do some performances. Kenya is fucked up”.

See what Kenyans have to say on Jaguar’s move;
This is an official trip for Govt business. To do his own shows while on official Govt business trip presents a conflict of interest

However, a section of other Kenyans saw nothing wrong with his act arguing that it is necessary for everyone to have a side job;
Nothing wrong with side hustle as long as he doesn’t bill the national assembly.
