The charge facing Uganda’s MP and Opposition figure Bobi Wine for “annoying” President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday caused a stir on social media with the majority of Kenyans terming it ridiculous.

Wine’s charges which were read as his intention to “alarm, annoy or ridicule” Museveni,  relate to a rally last year where Museveni’s convoy was allegedly stoned by opposition supporters.

Responding to the charges Wine mocked the charges arguing that Museveni’s government was in a panic mode of his opposition.

“This government of President Museveni is in panic mode. At first it was treason and now it is annoying President Museveni. Who on earth can’t be annoyed?” Wine said.

The 37year old Singer cum politician who has announced to challenge the longtime president in the upcoming elections is also facing a treason charge over the incident and is currently out on bail.

Mr. Wine among 35 others could face a life sentence if convicted of the charges.

Kenyans who have made his ‘ridiculous’ charges a subject of discussion on social media, took the opportunity to bash Museveni for overstaying in power and as well practising dictatorship in the country. The other section of Kenyans laughed off the charges.
