Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi Kamotho has finally asked Kenyans to refer to her using ‘Minji Minji’ name.
Speaking to the members of the press after Supreme Court triumph in a petition which was filed by Martha Karua, Anne Kamotho asked Kenyans to only refer to her using ‘Anne Mumbi Kamotho or Minji Minji.’
This follows her marriage to city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo which has forced her to drop the name ‘Waiguru.’
“You can call me Anne Mumbi or Anne Mumbi Minji Minji or Anne Mumbi Kamotho Minji Minji…whichever. It’s just a name,” Anne Mumbi stated.

Anne’s marriage to Waiganjo brought in a new paradigm as Kikuyu culture requires wives to use their husband’s first name as their surname.
However the online community has really mocked Anne Mumbi for finally accepting the ‘Minji Minji’s’ name.
It has elicited mixed reactions with some telling her to retain Waiguru’s name till she settles the NYS case.
Others have agreed with the name stating that it sounds better than Waiguru.
But she has been mocked in equal measures by online users. Mr lofty Bee on twitter has attacked the Kirinyaga Governor stating that her hair looks rough like steel wool.
Miji miji na nywele inakaa wire ya kuosha sufuria.
