Interior Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Sartuday became a subject for discussion on social media after a triggered speculation arose that he could be plotting a presidential bid in 2022.
Kenyans who were reacting to a local daily article rose mixed reactions on the possibility of the CS being used to dash Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 ambitions.
Despite the fact that the ‘Super CS’ hasn’t announced any move to join politics in 2022, the report stated otherwise citing observations that the CS has become the handshake compromise candidate to kill Ruto’s ambitions.
“There is a possibility that Matiang’i has presidential ambitions. There is a likelihood that he will be in the 2022 political matrix,” Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka quoted.
Reacting to the reports, a section of Kenyans felt that ‘Matiang’i’s’ ambitions’ could be just a mere dream that will never come true basing on the fact that the CS leadership strategy is more administrative than political.
Another section of Kenyans supported the speculations arguing that the CS would be the best replacement for Uhuru due to his dedication to performance and his clean record.
Here is are the reactions on Mating’i’s’s 2022 presidential ambition;
Mr. MATIANGI will never be President in this country. Let his supporters at least try getting him elected as an MCA in Nyamira. UHURU and BABA can go ahead and BACK him for President in 2022 against MT KENYA and DR RUTO. DR RUTO will WIN it very early in the MORNING.

NO. his style of leadership is more of administrative than political. In Africa No one will ever elect you unless you swim in the politics of Africa.

Every politician who has been elected has come as or been trumpeted as a political messiah, but it all turns out the same or worse…therefore stop taunting and fronting people unless you are testing the waters🤣

Can’t make it, won’t make it. He is a one man show. He does what he feels like. Undermine others. Treat those under him as his slaves. His bubble will soon burst.

Presidency is given by the people through free and fair election. Uhuru making Matiang’i his strongest foot soldier does not correspond to acceptability among netizens, and citizens. Quite a reckless title for your front page @dailynation . Try rephrasing, try @MigunaMiguna .

We should remove ALL politicians who have been in politics for more than 20years. Time for youths. Hata kama watakula, they wont know how to eat A LOT and after 5 years we remove em all.
