President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made a call to Kenyans arguing them to change their lifestyles as it is the cause of increased cancer cases in the country.
Uhuru was speaking during Governor Joyce Laboso’s memorial service where he argued that such diseases did not exist in the past as Kenyans used to feed on traditional meals unlike in the present where they are feeding on processed food.
“Tabia zetu pia sio kama zile zilikuwa za zamani, lazma tantalise what is it that we do today that our forefathers never did that is causing this disease to spread as fast as it is in our country.”

Uhuru’s call is coming at a time that the country has lost three prominent leaders in the same month to cancer among them Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore and Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
However, his call received a backlash as Kenyans took to the social media to retaliate while the majority took the opportunity to bash the president for failing to counter-attack corruption which has seen the country lose a lot of money which would have been used to invest in health infrastructure.
See what Kenyans had to say on Uhuru’s call;
Corruption is taking its toll. A country that feeds its people with poison. The moment the govt crippled preventive medicine, it's the moment it killed all of us.

The sugar laced with mercury has all been consumed. Corruption, as a lifestyle, is loading us with impurities.

It's no use Mr President asking countrymen and women to reconsider their lifestyles for health purposes. It's as useless as asking thieves to stop stealing. Do what it takes as a government to intervene as long as it is constitutional
