CS Rotich, PS Thugge released

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and Permanent Secretary Kamau Thugge have each been released on Ksh. 15 Million cash bail or 50 Million on bond in regard to the 21 Billion Arror and Kimwarer Dam Scandal.

The Court has ordered CS Rotich, PS Thugge not to go back to work. The Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti has insisted that The National Treasury is still an active scene of crime.But they will only be allowed to access the Treasury if they are accompanied by detectives.

“The places of work of the accused persons are considered scenes of crime and they should keep away,” Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti stated.

CS Henry Rotich and PS Thugge  among more than 10 others were charged  with multiple counts including abuse of office, conspiracy to commit an economic crime, conferring a benefit and single sourcing for the insurance of the projects, and approving payment contrary to the law.

But they all denied the charges.
