Days after scorning a brace in Arsenal’s International Champions Cup win over Fiorentina, Eddie Nketiah gave a heartwarming interview on his expectations next season. The Academy was a part-time player for Unai Emery last season but still had time to score his first Premier League goal on the last day of the season against Burnley.

The Youngster has scored 3goals in 3 games for Arsenal in their American pre-season tour and is looking to show Unai Emery he can call on him next season.

“I’m trying to show in pre-season that I have developed & I’m ready to show what I can do. I’m ready to start playing regularly. I want to keep improving, keep working hard, I know I have a long way to go because I want to keep pushing & see how far I can get.” he said.

He further went on to add that he has worked his socks off to be fit in time for Pre Season.

“I worked really hard in the off-season to stay fit and be strong and I think that’s showing on the pitch. I’ve worked hard on my physique in the off-season, trying to get stronger individually,” he added.

The main factor hindering Nketiah’s game time in the Arsenal first team is the fact that the Gunners have two World Class strikers in Pierre Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

He revealed that the two are actually his best friends at the club and he looks to cement a lasting relationship with them on the pitch.

“The two guys here are very good too. I feel we have a good relationship and Laca gave me a nice assist on the second goal [against Fiorentina] so I am grateful.

Arenal’s next pre-season is against the record European champions Real Madrid on Wednesday.
