Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji ordered the arrest of Treasury CS Henry Rotich, PS Kamau Thugge, and other senior government officials over the Kimwarer and Arror dams scandal.
They include EAC PS Susan Koech, Kerio Valley Development Authority managing director Kipchumba Kimosop, Treasury chief economist Kennedy Nyachiro and Treasury director of resource mobilization Jackson Kinyanjui.
According to the DPP, the senior government officials flouted procurement rules and committed illegalities in the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal.
However, majority of Kenyans who have taken to the social media to express their lack of trust claim that the DPP move is just a PR stunt as the top government officials are likely to get away scot-free in the end.
How many times has DPP Haji ordered the arrest of corrupt government officials who r later released for lack of sufficient evidence? The intended arrest of CS Rotich and Thuge is just a game and EACC’s PR gimmick.

DPP and his usual game of musical chairs..They will be taken to court, maybe spend night or two in Muthaiga 👮 station and be released on bond..If I was to advice them, they should actually go to the nearest politics station, and hand themselves over tot he cops..

Some Kenyans also believe that the move is meant to divert the attention from Ekuro Aukot’s the Punguza Mzigo Initiative. On Thursday IEBC announced that ‘Punguza Mzigo’ Initiative pushing for a constitutional amendment met the required threshold of at least one million signatures.
Kenyans, how can we act like a one Nation to make sure the punguza mizigo bill goes through. These politicians can’t and will never support it becouse they are the MIZIGO. Let’s preach this gospel to every kenyan through all means .

Those youths who don’t have jobs apply for Henry Rotich post and that of Kamau thuge, the moment they will be taken to court they will step down to pave way for investigation and judicial process

On the other side, a few Kenyans took a step to congratulate Haji for his bold move in the on war against corruption while arguing him not to leave any stone unturned to have all the stolen government resources returned.
I’m glad that at least progress on war against corruption is gaining momentum. The next move should be, to recover every single cent even if it means to auction every assets owned by these thieving public servants. Finally, imprison these public enemies life long.

President Kenyatta should do one thing for Kenya if indeed he is a patriot
COMPLETE OVERHAUL OF GOVERNMENT (CSs, PSs, Parastatal heads… Sequentially within 6months). @StateHouseKenya— OmontoOminto (@oyibwonkangi) July 22, 2019
Eventually he among others will be let out on various grounds but the damage the warrant of arrest will have done to their standing is irreversible.
