AFC Leopards dismiss Isuza exit rumors

AFC Leopards have dismissed reports linking key midfielder Whyvonne Isuza with a move away from the club.

Media reports on Sunday indicated that the former Mathare United ace has requested to quit Leopards after receiving a good offer from big spenders Wazito FC.

Isuza hasn’t trained with the rest of Leopards squad since the team began its pre-season training. He is currently with the national team Harambee Stars preparing for the African Championship (CHAN) qualification matches against Tanzania.

The club has now issued a statement dispelling the rumors. In a statement, Leopards clarified that the attacking midfielder hasn’t requested to ditch the club contrary to what’s being reported.

“Whyvonne Isuza has not requested to leave the club as it has been widely rumored. Any information concerning the team will be shared on our club official channels,” read the brief statement posted on the club’s social media pages.

Leopards unveiled their newly signed players on Sunday morning at Mumias Sports Complex.

The seven players are Rwandese duo of Soter Kayumba and Vincent Habamahoro. Burundian midfielder Tresor Ndikumana, Ugandan keeper Benjamin Ochan, Malian forward Ismaila Diarra, Hansel Ochieng a striker from Nzoia Sugar and Sony Sugar defender Robert Mudenyi Ayala.

The team is also expected to rope in three more players: A keeper and two outfield players to beef up the squad further
