Uhuru, Ruto Aides Clash Over Leaked Letter

A lot has been said about the relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto. It is believed that the two leaders are not reading from the same script. There has been tension in the Jubilee camp since the famous handshake between Raila and Uhuru in March 2018.

It now seems that the tension has not only affected Jubilee Politicians but also the staff in the Presidency. There has been a furious exchange of words between Uhuru and Ruto’s aides over a leaked letter that was to advise the Attorney General on the controversial Division of Revenue Bill.

No Huduma Namba, No Voting

You will not participate in the country’s election if you do not have Huduma Namba. This is if a Bill proposed by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i is passed into law.

If enacted, the Huduma Bill 2019, proposes to have individuals without Huduma Namba be denied vital services like registering their marriages, registering for electricity connection to their homes and enrolingl into a public educational facility among others.

Bag of Goodies for Teachers

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced that it will recruit 5,000 teachers on permanent and pensionable terms this financial year.

Chief executive officer Nancy Macharia said the Commission will also recruit intern teachers at a cost of Sh1.2 billion to help address the existing teacher shortage in primary and secondary schools.

Kenyans who have not registered for Huduma Namba will soon not be in a position to access medical services, own a bank account, travel outside the country, sell property, register a marriage, own a mobile phone number among other essential services if the proposed Huduma Bill, 2019 is approved.
