The Huduma Namba discussion is back again, this time with a bill that has been drafted and Kenyans seem not to take it. The bill will have hefty implications on Kenyans, some of which most of us had not foreseen. In its defence, the Government argues that its move is aimed at making service delivery to the people more efficient.
The said ‘Service Number’ is a special number that the government is seeking to allocate to each individual for the purpose of seeking government services. One proposal given in the bill is that individuals who give false information or make a false statement when providing information for entry into the NIIMS database, face an Ksh5 million penalty or five years in jail.
The Government has proposed a bill that will lock out individuals without Huduma Namba from healthcare services and participating in the country’s election among other essential services.
The Kenyan Government looks like it’s waging war against its citizens, I don’t think the courts here have any powers. They had rules that #HudumaNamba is voluntary, but from the look of things they are gonna shove it down our throats.

If enacted, the proposed Huduma Bill, 2019, by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, will see individuals blocked from registering their marriages, register for electricity connection to their homes and enrol into a public educational facility without listing themselves under the National Integrated Identity Management System(NIIMS).
Kenyans will also not sell or buy land as well as operate a bank account without the number if the punitive proposals by the Government are passed by Parliament.
With the #HudumaNamba,you give the current government absolute power over your citizenship as if they will rule us forever. All stolen taxpayers money will not be subject to hudumanamba…lest we forget the true nature of most of our leaders.

Kenyans were not pleased with this move and here were a few of their reactons;
You all were happy about the #HudumaNamba, turned out and took it in large numbers huuh. Wait until you see the Huduma Bill then you realize you are all slaves to the state 😔. pic.twitter.com/QbaoQaXxxu

Patriots protect the country not the government. #HudumaNamba was illegal from the onset yet the criminal state rolled it out, criminal Kenyans registered, patriots kept off…..
The name is very off! A service bill rather than a registration bill https://t.co/pctlvu9BSa

A few men realized they might not marry if they don’t have the number, a moment of celebration maybe?
