Mt.Kenya leaders have vowed to continue with the La Mada meetings which was alleged to be behind Dr. William Ruto assassination plot.

The leaders have insisted that the meetings core agenda is to steer the development agenda of the region.

They have claimed that ‘killing Ruto’ does not fit in their agenda at all.

“Mt. Kenya leaders have been meeting and will continue meeting to plan and organize development in our region. There is no where Mt. Kenya leaders meet to plan anyone’s downfall. Like leaders in other regions our meetings are geared towards developing our region, and they will continue ‘wapende wasipende’,” Ngunjiri Wambugu stated.

The same idea was shared by Ruth Wangare Mwaniki, MP Kigumo, who hosted the Team Uhuru leaders in the region.

This comes after it was alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta had stopped Night meetings at La Mada Hotel which was led by top Cabinet Secretaries.

But this is not the case according to CS Peter Munya. Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary has denied the allegations stating that the meetings have been intensified.

Peter Munya.

“It is total lie and fabrication to say we have stopped our meetings. In fact, we were to meet yesterday (last Wednesday) but we had other engagements. We are to meet again next week,” Mr Munya said.

He added: “Our meetings continue. We are intensifying them. Nobody has stopped us. We are cascading issues of development to counties and sub-counties to know exact situation on the ground, for instance where the water projects have reached.”

Team Tangatanga on the other hand is pushing for the ouster of the Cabinet Secretaries involved in the plot to kill Ruto. They are also pointing fingers at DCI George Kinoti.

But DCI has not closed this case as State House Online Strategist Dennis Itumbi remains a prime suspect in the fabricated letter which circulated the information on Ruto’s assassination plot.

But Itumbi interestingly has a video of the La Mada meeting which he was barred from playing by the court.
