Western Stima signs 9 players, drops 10

Kenya Premier League side Western Stima have confirmed the signing of nine players to the club this transfer season. This is in a bid to revamp the team for a better result in the season 2019-20.

Western Stima faced a torrid time last season, finishing in the 13th position in the KPL standings with 39 points, winning only 8 matches, drawing 15 and losing 11.

The club is currently on a recruitment spree after earning promotion back to the Kenyan Premier League at the end of 2018 National Super League (NSL) campaign.

Among the players that the team has signed include; Ibrahim Ochieng (Kisumu Hot Stars FC), Kelvin Wasonga (Sony Sugar), Henry Juma (K.Sharks), John Njau (Sony Sugar), Amos Kigadi (Vihiga United), Abdala Wankuru (Sony Sugar), Fidel Origa,(Kariobangi Sharks), Kennedy Odhiambo (Sony Sugar) and Oromchan Villa (Bidco FC, Uganda).

The team has also dropped 10 payers ahead of the 2019-20 league campaign. Among the players dropped are; Laban Gambareko, David Okello, Victor Oduor, Wesley Kemboi, Ian Otieno, Samuel Olare, Martin Oduor, Kote Berry Amboko, and Anthony Obonyo.

Vincent Odongo, however, has been released on request.

Western Stima will begin their 2019-20 campaign on 30 August 2019 against Kariobangi Sharks.
