From sports to art and music, this weekend is jam-packed with the ultimate events you can’t afford to miss. It has something for everyone!

I hope you have your party shoes ready for the lit weekend you’re about to have. Nairobi is the place to be this weekend once you get to see all the hot events that are going down this weekend. The line-up of events is going to leave you confused enough to want to split yourself in parts just so you get to attend all.

Let’s get right into it, shall we?

  1. Koroga Festival

The Koroga Festival is back and will go down this weekend in a two-day celebration at Tatu City. The extravaganza brings together African music, food, art and fashion in a concert held a few times every year. The 26th edition will feature Ethic entertainment on the first day and Femi Kuti on Sunday.

The Koroga Festival is a great reflection of Kenya’s brilliant and diverse local talent, whilst also attracting leading artists from all over the world through music.

Tickets to Ethic’s performance are now going for Ksh.1,000. Their much-anticipated performance will feature their brand new hit song Figa which has hit airwaves with a bang.

Sunday is usually the day when Koroga Festival brings in an international act including the likes of Burna Boy and Yemi Alade. In this edition, they are bringing Nigerian Femi Kuti to grace our stage.  The tickets are going for Ksh.2,000. Veteran genge rapper Jua Cali will be among the key performers of the day as well.

2. Jah Cure

Nobody can stop reggae.

Jamaican reggae star Jah Cure just landed in the country for his much-anticipated show on Saturday 6th July at the Uhuru Gardens. Reggae lovers around the country are uniting and getting ready for the biggest night of their month this week. The event dubbed Umoja Splash Festival are having tickets sold at just Ksh.1,500.

3. Miss Kenya Plus World 2019

Founded by Neomi Ng’ang’a, Miss Kenya Plus World beauty pageant is here. More than 450 models attended the national auditions and the finals tomorrow will see the qualifying 29 battle it out for the prize during the grand ceremony to be held at Garden City Roof Top.

The judging panel includes radio host Massawe Japanni, CEO Marini Naturals Michelle Ntalami, Christine Khasinah of Supamamas, actress Muthoni Gatheka and Neomi herself.

4. Nairobi Wine Festival

Nairobi wine lovers have an exciting treat to look forward to this weekend as the festival begins today. Tickets for the full weekend pass are going for Ksh. 4,500 for the event that will culminate at the Trademark Hotel Nairobi.

It will bring together people from across the globe, not just Kenyans.

Wine tastings will be coupled with delicious gourmet bites, live cooking stations and for the VIP guests, international wine masterclasses with the top sommeliers in Nairobi.

5. Kariobangi Sharks VS Everton

Everton are set to make their maiden visit to Kenya on 7th July to play 2019 SportPesa Cup winners, Kariobangi Sharks at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

The showpiece event that is set to kick off at 4:00 pm will feature Everton’s stars alongside budding SportPesa Premier League talents. The event will also be graced by Kenya’s top performing artists. Regular tickets will go on sale from 1st July at SportPesa shops in Nairobi CBD and TRM for Ksh100.

6. Sunday Fun Day

Sunday Funday at Garden City Mall

Hosted by Sleepy David and with special performances by Hammo, Jasper Murume, Moji Short Baba and entertainment by Dj Mo, you can’t miss out! The day event will run from 12pm to 5pm at Nairobi’s infamous Garden City Mall and tickets are going for Ksh.500 for children.
