Done Deal: Wazito FC officially confirm the signing of 3 new players

Newly promoted Kenya Premier League moneybags Wazito Fc has confirmed the signing of three players as preparations for the new season gathers pace. The club has been searching for experienced Kenya Premier League talent this offseason and finally. 3 have been confirmed.

First up is Sony Sugar’s striker Derrick Otanga. He found the net 13 times for the sugar Millers last season and has expressed his joy in joining Wazito. “The journey is going to be difficult but lifting the trophy will be fantastic and I hope we achieve that glorious fete”, he was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

The speedy striker has also played for Nairobi Pipeline, Naivas Fc before joining SonySugar where he played for two years.

His draws his inspiration from Portuguese winger and has already stated his goal for next season which is winning the Kenya Premier League golden boot.

Also joining the National Super League Champions are two goalkeepers Kevin Omondi from Sony Sugar and Gad Matthew from Kariobangi Sharks. Kevin Omondi was Sony Sugar’s first choice goalkeeper last season and has previously played for Nairobi City Stars.

The club’s Sporting Director Solomon Alubala has expressed his delight in Wazito’s recruitment process so far and has promised more signings in the near future.

Backed by their charismatic owner Don Rico, Wazito stormed to the National Super League summit last season earning automatic promotion to Kenya’s top flight league. The club has a strong financial muscle and they are willing to stretch it to the limit.

There are rumors that Wazito is circling around Gor Mahia’s captain Harun Shakava even though no official communication has been passed yet.
