Manchester United forward Romeru Lukaku is set to spend the season 2019-20 at Old Trafford. This is after the recent remarks by his agent Federico Pastorello, who now leaves the transfer hanging by a thread. Rumours have been going around that the Italian Lega Serie A side Internazionale Milan want to sign Lukaku.

Lukaku also had stated his desire to leave the club this summer after enduring a torrid run last season and is prepared for a new challenge. In fact, he mentioned Italy as the possible place he wants to play in.

IAs it was reported earlier by Metro, United rejected Inter’s offer of striker Mauro Icardi in a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku and they demand £80m to release the star.

But according to Pastorello, Inter have made no serious interest in the forward and if they really want to sign him, they need to get ‘closer’ to Lukaku.

“There are no particular new developments, just a chat with the director to understand the situation better and we’ll see what decisions they have to make,” Pastorello told an Italian publication.

“We certainly don’t decide the timing. If the player wants to be signed, they need to move towards him too.”

He explained: “I’ve never stated numbers, so I don’t know if those are the figures they’ve got in mind. You’d have to ask Inter. Lukaku is certainly a declared transfer target, but declaring a target doesn’t necessarily mean achieving it. It’s still very difficult.”

The 26-year-old joined Manchester United on 10 July 2017, signing a five-year contract with the option of a further year.
