The 2022 succession politics has come at the cost of Mt Kenya region unity which has seen the formation of political alignments and looming supremacy battles.
Nyeri Town MP Wambugu Ngunjiri has hit at Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri asking him to resign and join him in the political arena.
“What CS Kiunjuri needs to do is resign. Akuje tufanye siasa sasa,” read Ngunjiri’s Facebook post.
The beef between the two vocal leaders is coming just a few days after Ngunjiri got accused of being behind the chaos that erupted that saw CS Kiunjuri get chased from a meeting he was presiding on Saturday at Ngunjiri’s backyard.
Kiunjuri was presiding over the launch of Riamukurwi Water Project in Gatitu, Nyeri Town, when the unruly group, in the company of area MP Ngunjiri and Woman Representative Rahab Mukami, arrived and immediately took control of the programme.
The impasse lasted close to 30 minutes.
Controversial Ainakboi MP William Chepkut went to bash Ngunjiri for inviting goons to disrupt and heckle at the CS, so heckling him was just unwarranted.
“Mp Ngunjiri invites CS Kiunjuri to his event. Then organise for him to be heckled. Brainless!” Chepkut retorted.
