Kanu and ODM parties have are the major beneficiaries at the Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD)-Kenya after two of their leaders were elected to the topmost positions in the democracy body.
Kanu’s nominated Senator Halake Abushiro was elected the organization’s Chairperson while ODM’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna was elected the Vice Chairperson of the organization. Michael Orwa of Narc Kenya was made the secretary and Joe Kanguchu of FAP treasurer.
ODM party through it’s Twitter account expressed its satisfaction with the nominations while at the same time congratulating the two in their new roles.

The election of Senator Halake of Kenya African National Union(KANU) into the post, will help the party which ruled the country since independence to revive its fading glory as it prepares for the 2022 race.
Abshiro through her twitter account has expressed her gratitude following her a new appointment which raises the bar for Kanu. She has promised to serve diligently to ensure democracy is upheld across all political parties.
“Today, I am deeply humbled for being elected the new Chairperson of CMD Kenya. As we take over from Hon. Omingo Magara and his able team, we pledge to elevate CMD to a whole new status,” She said.
Kanu which is currently struggling to revive it’s lost glory in the country through Baringo Senator and Party leader Gideon Moi joined other Kenyans in congratulating the two leaders

The outgoing chairman Omingo Magara congratulated the two new leaders for their victory in the process urging all other leaders who lost to support the two in achieving party democracy in the country.
“We will ensure we walk the talk and steer this institution to greater heights. I will constantly seek the counsel and consultations of the outgoing chairperson, Hon Omingo Magara, to ensure we continue improving the institution where he and others have left it,” said Abshiro after being elected.
The Centre for Multiparty Democracy, CMD-Kenya is a political parties-based membership organization established in March 2004. The mandate is to enhance multiparty democracy and strengthens the institutional capacity of political parties in Kenya through policy influence and capacity building.
