Senator Halake revives Kanu Party with new major appointment

The Kenya African National Union(KANU) which ruled for nearly forty years since independence is in the verge of being revived.

The which marked the end of its rule with the end of President Daniel Torotich Arap Moi is now re-shaping its path of going at the top.

One of its top leaders Senator Abshiro Halake has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Center of Multi-Party Democracy in Kenya.

The nominated Kanu senator is being assisted by Edwin Sifuna, ODM Secretary General who is her Deputy, the Secretary is Michael Orwa of Narc Kenya while the Treasurer is Joe Kanguchu of FAP.

Abshiro through her twitter account has expressed her gratitude following her a new appointment which raises the bar for Kanu. She has promised to serve diligently to ensure democracy is uphold at all political parties.

“Today, I am deeply humbled for being elected the new Chairperson of CMD Kenya. As we take over from Hon. Omingo Magara and his able team, we pledge to elevate CMD to a whole new status,”She said.

Kanu took on twitter to congratulate Halake on her new appointment which is a sign of better things ahead for Kanu which is struggling to revive its prominence.

Gladys Wanga, Homa Bay County MP also wished Abshiro Halake well. The two have been bold in pushing for the Embrace Agenda in Kenya.

However Kanu has been making considerate steps especially when it comes to top leadership of the country.

Tiaty MP William Kamket said the party will have a “presidential candidate known to the people” by the time the country goes to the polls.

He said Kanu has gone around the country on a meet-the-people tour and it is evident that it has a huge following.

“We have been meeting the people and Kanu will have a presidential candidate known to you. We will have a flag bearer,” the MP said at Churo Secondary Girls in Tiaty, Baringo County.
