Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa set social media ablaze just a few weeks ago after he showed up at Daraja Mungu Primary School bare-footed and in torn primary school uniform to officially open classrooms which were constructed by Kimilili NG-CDF.

The controversial lawmaker who is one of the key Tanga Tanga members, defended his dressing code stating that it is a reminder of his humble background. However, this did not stop his critics who argued that his move was ridicule to the majority of his poor constituents.

But it seems the stunts won’t stop any time soon, as Didmus has pulled off another one. This time he went on a car washing mission. The lawmaker who harbours dreams of being Bungoma governor in future was pictured washing motorbikes in Chwele Market on Friday. Boda Boda riders did not disappoint as they presented their machines to the MP for washing.

Barasa did this after donating a car wash machine to Kanduyi pool CBO in efforts to help them generate income from it through cleaning.

“It’s time we give back to the youths whom we have used as a ladder for many years. Its only through empowering them that we can guarantee a better future” claimed Barasa.

However, MP Barasa’s gesture of humility did not as well go well with Kenyans who questioned how launching a single car wash worth Ksh 13,000 was youth empowerment.
