The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has reportedly been on the decline lately with regards to support and influence among Kenyans.
Raila Odinga, the Party Leader on Thursday and Friday graced the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting which saw the party make drastic moves in efforts revive its influence from their supporters.
NEC started by replacing Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok with Loima MP Jeremiah Lomorukai as the Party’s Vice Chairman over grounds of numerous public pronouncements that he has quit the ODM Party.

The Party has again announced a massive countrywide member-recruitment drive set to begin immediately and end by the 31 st of December this year. ODM Secretary General claimed that move is set to strengthen the party which for a while has been associated with the Lakeside and the Coast regions.
“In revitalizing the party and in readiness for the forthcoming grassroots elections, the NEC resolved to roll-out a massive countrywide member-recruitment drive to begin immediately and end by the 31 st of December 2019. Details of this exercise will be communicated shortly, “read part of the Party’s statement.
Stubborn and Indisciplined members of the party have as well been warned with the party threatening to take strict actions against them and reconstruct its Discipline committee.
“ODM shall not relent in its bid to instill discipline among its members and ensure every member respects party Constitution and rules. It is in this pirit that we shall be reconstituting our Disciplinary Committee,” argued Sifuna.
