Each of us, as women lubricate differently, there’s no standardized amount of wetness that we are expected to produce. That said, however, little or no lubrication in your vagina can cause your sex session to flop not mentioning the pain and discomfort you will go through.

“Lubrication is your body’s way of telling you that you’re turned on,” says Mary Jane Minkin, M.D, a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at Yale University School of Medicine.

From being stressed, hormones, not sexually aroused, birth-control pills, you might have experienced vaginal dryness, and the pain you went through was unbearable! So how about on your next sex session, you add lube in your “must haves”? Not only will you make your sex session less painful, but also pleasurable. Lube boosts below-the-belt sensation and allows your man to thrust longer and harder without causing you discomfort. Whether after 10min of foreplay you are still as dry as stone or juice is dripping down your inner thighs, just one dollop could re-shuffle your whole sex life as you know it.

Lubes are mainly water, oil, petroleum or silicone, based, but water-based lube is your best bet

Water-based lube:
  • Safe to use with condoms
  • Easy cleaning after sex-no stains and no lingering bacteria left behind. But don’t use in the shower as it washes off quite fast.
  • Prone to yeast infection? Use one without glycerine
  • You have to re-apply during sex, as it dries fast
  • Great with sex toys
Oil-based lube
  • Not compatible with most condoms-cause latex condoms to deteriorate
  • They are super slippery-so perfect when you want to masturbate
  • Thicker consistency
  • Coconut and olive oil can be your kitchen lube
  • Stains
Silicone-based lube
  • Super-slippers and lasts longer so-no need of re-applying
  • Don’t use with sex toys-breaks down the toys and destroys them
  • Can use in shower
  • Hypoallergenic
