The former Harambee Stars defensive midfielder McDonald Mariga grabbed the little time remaining to encourage the national team before heading to the second match of the African Cup of Nation against Tanzania.
Harambee Stars are at the verge of ceasing the tournament should they lose their crucial match against Tanzania on Thursday, a match that is deemed as final to keep alive their dream of going past the group stages. This is after Migne’s boys were beaten 2-0 by Algeria in their opener on Sunday.
Their Sunday loss called for action as prominent Kenyan leaders like Raila Odinga visited the team and consoled them, encouraging them to forget about the past and focus on their next match against Tanzania.

Mariga was also touched by what the fallen stars are currently undergoing and paid them a visit at their training ground before encouraging them on how to go about their match with Tanzania.
“What I can tell you is that forget about the past match and put serious focus on the game against Tanzania, which will be like a final match. Let’s encourage each other, co-ordinate in the field and be ready to die for the team and eventually things will work, “stated Mariga.
