Popular Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has broken Kenyans ribs on his way to stardom. He is now a global superstar making people laugh all over the world.

Very few people, however, know about the funny man’s past religious life. A little known fact about Omondi is that just like Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto, the funnyman was a senior leader at Christian Union. The deeply religious Ruto was chairman of the University Christian Union choir and later patron of the Christian Union at a high school he taught briefly.

Eric was a fellowship vice chairman while at Daystar University back in 2006. He later started his comic career in 2007 from Churchill show where he’s grown to be a global sensation. Posting on his Instagram page a throwback picture of his religious youthful days, together with his team back in the day.

This is not the first time Eric has humored fans with his throwback photo of his Christian union days. Check out the post below:

Religion in Kenya, specifically Christianity in the music scene has completely taken a different turn as it is plagued with scandals of ungodly nature. From the scandal of Hopekid and Dk Kwenye beat where they allegedly raped a girl and infected her with herpes, to Willy Paul’s raunchy performances with Nandy for their new ‘Hallelujah’ song.

The most recent scandal that happened but a few days ago involved beloved gospel artist Mr Seed who reportedly cheated on his wife and mother of one Nimo Gachuiri in their home while she was away.

The girl claimed that she did not want to engage in sex but he insisted. Voice notes of his best friend telling her to keep the situation quiet have surfaced and made rounds on social media for the past two days.

Today I’m a sad guy, but I chose to relax because the anger of a man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:20). So leo nimekua napigiwa simu na bloggers ati Mr Seed na wife yake wanasema nalipwa niwaharibie jina and that’s why I CHOSE TO COME OUT WITH THE TRUTH because I’m still a growing artist and it’s not fair for someone to go around tarnishing my name. So let me share with you the real truth. So there’s a story that has been going round that Mr Seed allegedly slept with a certain lady without her consent and as a brother I approached him to tell him to know how to handle the situation before things get worse. Mr Seed accepted that he knew the lady but unfortunately he did not bother to look for her to sort the issue. He later confronted me (Lucky enough I recorded the conversation just incase things turn against me as is the case right now) TO NIMOH: You’ve been coached kusema nimelipwa niwaharibie jina (the first voice call attached is going round in whats app groups & blogs) That is Mr Seed’s Friend NDUME who was in the house the day this lady visited. So mkipigia blogs mnamaanisha ni mimi nilileta huyo dem kwa nyumba or I’m responsible for what happened in your absence? Implicating me in this is SO WRONG! Kindly sort your own issues out. If my mistake was telling a friend to try and sort out an issue that involved him, then my bad. Siko interested na kutrend mimi nataka tu kuimbia tu Mungu πŸ™

The gospel industry has left people questioning what is the way forward as the ones to guide and influence are just as bad as unbaptized folk, if not worse.
