Gor Mahia have refuted reports indicating that they are set to sign Cameroonian striker, Charles Edoa Nga from Eswatini side,  Royal Leopards.

Media reports in Eswatni indicated that the Kenyan champions were in for the widely travelled forward as a replacement for Rwandan striker Jacques Tuyisenge who is expected to quit the club for Angolan giants, Petro Atletico.

“We had a number of offers from across Africa but we felt the Gor Mahia deal was worth it. Baroka FC, Polokwane City, Wits and Tanzania’s Young Africans were all interested in the player,” the player’s agent Samuel Kamali said in an interview.

Gor Mahia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lordvick Aduda has however dismissed the reports saying the club is not interested in signing the 29-year old forward.

“Take it from me, we are not going to sign that player. I do not understand where these rumours are emanating from. We have not shown any interest in the player neither have we contacted him nor his agent. We have shortlisted players that we will sign but he is not among them,”Aduda told Opera News.

Tuyisenge, who joined the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions in 2016 from Rwandan side, Police FC is expected to complete a move to the Angolan side in the next few days. Midfielder Francis Kahata is also rumoured to be heading out after the expiry his contract.

Gor Mahia was reportedly interested in Sony Sugar striker Derrick Otanga but the former Naivas FC man opted to join National Super League moneybags, Wazito FC.
