Zoo FC midfielder Danson Chetambe has confirmed that he has joined Mombasa based, Kenyan Premier League, Bandari FC.

The central midfielder played a pivotal role in ensuring that the Kericho based side cheated on relegation once again during the 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League campaign. He was the club top scorer with 12 goals and set up 10 goals for his teammates.

He has now confirmed his departure to the Bernard Mwalala coached outfit, a club he believes is right for his development.

‘I can confirm that I have joined Bandari FC. They gave me a good offer and I decided to join them. Coach Mwalala believes in young players and I am confident that this is the right club for me to develop my career further,’ the 21-year old told Opera News.

Tusker FC, Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards Kariobangi Sharks and Western Stima were all interested in Chetambe’s services but he says that Bandari was the most appealing in terms of his growth as a player.

‘They were all interested in me but I had to choose a club that would suit me. They are all great clubs but after considering several factors and most importantly my career development, I felt Bandari was the right side for me,’ he added.

He had kind words for his former side and club chairman Ken Ochieng who he says nurtured him to become the player he is right now.
