Gideon Moi who is a political bigwig in KANU has suffered a blow. West Pokot Governor John Krop Lonyangapuo has ditched his party to join The Deputy President William Ruto.
The funny Governor Lonyangapuo hosted DP Ruto where he opened a multipurpose social hall at Tamkal Secondary School in Sigor Constituency, and a twin laboratory at Kapenguria Boys high school.
Lonyangapuo capitalized on DP Ruto’s generosity to drum his support for him.
The governor, elected on a Kanu ticket and a close ally of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, spoke publicly for the first time in support of Mr Ruto’s candidature.
He was joined by Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok who said their support for the DP was unwavering.
The Governor has however been complaining of opposition from one his opponents. “Mtu Fupi Round.” DP Ruto Promised to offer him a job.
DP Ruto appreciated the support from the Rift Valley Governors who have shown maximum support for him towards his 2022 Presidential ambition.
This is the second time Governor Lonyangapuo has hinted of joining Team Tangatanga. Few months ago he said that he will only drum his support to the leaders who have brought development to West Pokot that is DP Ruto.
KANU is yet to offer official statement on the betrayal from Governor Lonyangapuo. The same applies to Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok who dumped ODM for Dr Ruto.
