Kenya Premier League bigwigs AFC Leopards have reportedly set their eyes on sensational Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) holding midfielder Siraje Ssentamu.

The midfielder joined the tax collectors on June 2017 after the expiry of his contract with Vipers. Sentamu helped the Vipers to win the Uganda Cup trophy and Azam Uganda Premier League title. His exit followed the signing of SC Villa captain Taddeo Lwanga.

But Ssentamu’s contract with the URA was to expire at the end of the season 2018-19 and no formal engagement has been made about his contract extension at the club.

Uganda premier league sidesTooro United, Sports Club Villa and Express are known to have approached the player’s representative about his availability.

“Siraje Ssentamu’s employment contract expired at the end of the previous season. We are giving first priority to the current employers because of my client’s loyalty at the club. However, AFC Leopards asked about his (Ssentamu) availability. Here in Uganda, clubs as Express, SC Villa and Tooro United seem to be interested. We Shall go with the highest bidder,” says Ssentamu’s representatives.

Ssentamu has played a big role in ensuring URA win as many matches as possible, allowing them to finish in the third position in the final standings of the table.

His great tackling skills, timely blocks and easy distribution of balls at all ranges; both diagonal passes and short crispy will really be a big boost for struggling AFC Leopards.

Sentamu becomes the second player to leave Vipers after Keziron Kizito who completed his move to AFC Leopards.
