Alfred Mutua : Vote Me In and Do Away With Kikuyu Kalenjin Presidency

As 2022 approaches, political realignments have already started taking place.

Deputy President William Ruto who is a major player in the elections has recently become an enemy of many since he announced his 2022 presidential ambitions. Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has now expressed his interest in the 2022 presidency in a bid to block Ruto’s presidential ambition.

Mutua was speaking at Tindereti in Borabu, he claimed that he is the best candidate since Kenya needs clean and fresh blood and new ways of doing things.

Mutua said that small tribes should also be given chance to lead the country.

“In 2022, I Alfred Nganga Mutua, will present myself, as a unifying, tested and trustable leader, to establish a new Kenya where every citizen can realize their potential without knowing people in high places”.

“For us to have unity, we must embrace other tribes. If you go with mentality that only your tribes should lead, chances are that we shall continue struggling as a country,” he went on.

His sentiments were echoed by Senator Okong’o Mogeni, who also said that small tribes should be given a chance to lead the country.

“We have competition people from small tribes. It’s time they are supported. All we want is a person with integrity and good morals,” he said.

Mutua is not the first politician from UKambani who has made attempts to block Ruto’s 2022 ambition.

Last month, Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama claimed that Ruto must retire alongside President Uhuru Kenyata in 2022.

The veteran politician claimed that he had sought enough legal consultation as he moves to the constitutional court to compel Ruto to hang up his political boots upon expiry of their second term in office.

In December last year, former Jubilee Vice Chairperson David Murathe also threatened to move to the Supreme Court to stop DP Ruto’s 2022 ambition.

He claimed that DP Ruto does not qualify to be president in 2022 and should equally retire alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta amove that made him fall out with other Jubilee members .
