“The Kikuyu vote will not be brokered for money by ‘tukunias’.

No one carries a vote for another so those ‘promising’ others the votes of the region, we know you; and you aren’t the first ‘tukunias’ in the history of the Kikuyu people,” The Council of Elders stated.

But DP Ruto has come to address this issue which Team Kieleweke which is opposed to his presidency have capitalized on to pin him down.

Speaking to a church congregation in Dagoretti South, DP Ruto rubbished claims that Kikuyu people own him. He has however blamed it on Government officials who splash money to the Council of Elders then feed them with false information.

“Government Officers should not spend Taxpayers money to lie to our elders.

No-one owes me a debt.

There are only 2 types of debt in Kenya;

1. The National Debt

2. The debt of our Development campaign promise that got us elected with the President,” DP Ruto retorted.

The Deputy President William Ruto has been under intense pressure from Mt Kenya Region with the latest pressure coming from leaders from Embu.

The leaders from Embu have endorsed National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi to be DP Ruto’s running mate in 2022. The leaders led by former Legislature Cecily Mbarire have stated that they are ready to support Ruto’s Presidency as long as he picks JB Muturi.

This call by Embu leaders handcuffs DP Ruto who has been transversing different parts of the country in efforts to strengthen his bid.
