Dennis Itumbi has added weight to Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s allegations that there is group at the top of the government called the ‘system’ frustrating politicians by wanting things to go their way.

The Jeff Koinange Live show hosted Sonko on Wednesday night where the Nairobi Woman Representative audio he leaked turned out to an excessively heated debate.

The two have since crossed paths airing out their dirty linens in public by calling each other out for disappointing the other in issues that many citizens feel they could have handled behind back doors instead of damaging each other’s reputation the way they have.

The two had a public altercation during the 56th Madaraka Day celebrations. Sonko who was speaking during the marking of 90th anniversary of Local Authorities Pension Trust said that he did not do anything wrong to warrant an apology adding that Passaris is the one who provoked him

“I said I’m not her husband, which is true. Why do you want me to apologise for speaking the truth? I won’t,” said Sonko.

The governor told off Passaris after differing on his charitable works as well as apparent failure to answer her phone calls.

Passaris then walked out from the event as the governor was making his address amid jeers from a section of youths who attended the national celebrations.

According to Sonko during the JKL interview, Passaris was in a mission to provoke him in public, with orders from top officials of the State House which he called the ‘system’.

“She (Esther Passaris) was under instructions from a senior officer in the office of the president to attack me in public… she was paid. Passaris is misleading Kenyans; I do pick her calls. She made allegations against me and I had a right to reply,” said Sonko.

Dennis Itumbi who has worked for State House for a long time has backed Sonko narrating that on particular day he was present in a car when the ‘system’ called a state MC  to deny Mike Sonko the microphone in a public event.

He spoke further that the Governor had to stand up to the official bullies and insist on speaking. Itumbi has stressed the ‘frustrates’ truly exist.

Reacting to Itumbi’s support; Many have said he was also in the ‘system’.
