Bomet Governor Dr Joyce Laboso is now divided between fighting for her life in a Hospital in London and her reputation.
Before taking a leave, Dr Joyce Laboso made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The Governor was accused of launching mediocre and substandard projects in her Bomet backyard.

Brick Bridge
Dr. Joyce Laboso came out to defend a brick bridge that had been earmarked for demolition in her county.
The bridge attracted national attention after the National construction Authority(NCA) stated that it did not meet the required standards as per the construction regulations.
Governor Laboso told off NCA stating that her government will continue with the construction of the bridge despite the notice.

The bridge was worth 6 Million.
Footbridge worth 4.8 Million
The Governor also made headlines after commissioning a sketchy footbridge which is valued at 4.8 Million.

The bridge evoked numerous reactions as it was termed as a waste of public funds. The project dates back to 2018.
The Sorry State of Bomet Hospitals
The hospitals in Bomet County are also in deplorable state. The Governor has been accused of seeking medical abroad instead of improving the state of hospitals in her county.

The hospitals are in bad shape as some patients are even forced to share beds in order to receive treatment.
Governor Joyce Laboso went to seek medical attention in London because, to her, going to Longisa Referral Hospital would be suicidal. She governs establishments in which she has no faith.

But it seems the Governors from that county of Bomet have no faith in their hospitals. The Former Governor Isaac Rutto, also traveled to South Africa for specialized treatment during his tenure as County Chief.

Although Hon Raila Odinga went to wish her quick recovery, Dr Joyce Laboso has so many questions to answer to calm the anger of the residents of Bomet County.
She also has a lot to prove not to taint the name of women leadership as even the 2/3 gender balance remains a dream.
