Residents of Bisunu location in Sirisia constituency, Bungoma, were left in shock after a woman stabbed to death her brother-in-law after he failed to bring home fish for supper.

David Khaemba, 35, had promised a meal of fish once he sold the ballast his wife and her sister had prepared. However, a quarrel ensued with his wife Caro Nafula when he returned home empty handed with pleas that whoever bought the ballast was yet to pay falling on deaf ears.

“The sister-in-law emerged with a kitchen knife and stabbed him on the left side of the stomach,” said Pius Khamala, deceased’s elder brother.

He said his brother, who was bleeding profusely, died a few minutes after arriving at Sirisia Sub-county Hospital.

”My brother succumbed to knife injuries after he was stabbed just once by his sister-in-law Doricas Muchanga who has been staying around,” he said.

Nafula and Muchanga were arrested and are being held at Sirisi Police Station while the Khamala’s body was taken to Sirisia hospital mortuary. Police recovered the murder weapon from a pit latrine where the suspect had tossed it into.

Elsewhere, the number of bodies dumped on Moi North Lake Road in Naivasha hit four after another was found on Thursday morning near Kasarani estate.

In the same manner as the other three, the man had his hands tied behind his back and there were indications that he had been strangled using a wire.

Residents are now living in fear and calling for thorough investigations into the killings, worried that murderers had found a new dumping site on the recently rehabilitated road.

The first two bodies were found on Monday by members of the public and a day later a third defaced corpse was found in the same area.

None of the men had identification documents, according to a local leader Boniface Waiganjo adding that it was possible they were killed elsewhere and their bodies ferried to the area.

“This is the first time that we have recorded anything like this and we are calling on police to urgently investigate this,” he said.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru said the body had been taken to the local mortuary awaiting identification.

“Three other bodies were discovered early in the week and taken to Gilgil mortuary and the fourth body has been collected and taken to Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary,” he said.
