Shocking Number of ‘Old’ Players in Barcelona That Needs Replacement

“The faces of young people are the faces of our past, our present and our future.” This was an ancient quote but is still popular to date. The old will go and the young will take over then the younger and so on…

Even a football club risk losing their form and stability if the team is fully constituted of old players. Therefore, young players needs to be given the chance to leave them at a better position to take over from the old.

This is what Barcelona is being encouraged to do at the moment.

Barca have up to seven players who are 30 years and above; Piqué, Alba, Busquets, Rakitic, Vidal, Messi and Suárez, all of who played in the disastrous second leg at Anfield.

This means that Barcelona needs to look for the signature of young players to avoid a state where many best players retire at the same time, leaving the club without stars to fit in their shoes.

However, the Blaugrana have apparently begun doing that and have been pursuing the signature of young individuals.

Barca had secured the signature of former Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong in January and are actively looking forward to signing Ajax sensational defender Matthijs de Ligt.

These young players needs to be put together with the old players to get used to the system if Barcelona really needs to preserve their superb style of play.
