Revealed: Why De Ligt is Hesitant to Sign for Barcelona

Everything happens in this world with a purpose and we have good reasons why we may accept or reject a deal. Imagine you were a player and receive a call to join Barcelona; the biggest club in the world! If it were me and you, we would not waste even a second before securing a deal.

But that has been different with sensational Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt.

After a good show in the Champions League and successfully leading his club to clinch domestic double, De Ligt made a name and has rocked Europe since then.

In fact, he is the hottest property in the transfer market currently as several are reported to be having sleepless nights in a bid to secure the signature of the Ajax sensation.

The Dutchman had earlier on declared his interest to play for Barcelona alongside his former Ajax teammate Frenkie de Jong who had already been signed by Barcelona back in January.

This was despite receiving calls from other big clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool for a lucrative deal.

However, Barcelona have offered only 65 million Euros to sign him but he has not joined clubs with lucrative deals like Manchester United.

It is, therefore, easy to say that the player may really want to play for the Blaugrana but something has been hindering the move.

In a bid to clear the air, a new truth has emerged as to why De Ligt has been so hesitant to sign for Barca despite his love for the club and advise from his Dutch fans.

According to reports, the defender will be making his decision soon about which club he will be playing for next season.

The player is now in doubt, especially because of Pique’s presence in Barcelona. He’s worried that he will not play much and thinks the Premier League is better for a good defender.

All eyes are waiting to see where he will finally land his decision, in the Premier League of Barcelona.

Which club would you prefer De Ligt to play for next season?
