Gay couples in a bid for state to recognize children they sire

The issue of the legal marriages of same-sex couples and the birthright citizenship of their children is still a big issue in countries around the world.

Supporters of LGBTQ rights across the U.S. call on the State to change the discriminatory policy treating the children of same-sex couples as born “out of wedlock.”

The US among other nations does not recognize bi-national same-sex marriages and the birthright citizenship of their offsprings.

In most cases, married gays and lesbians use gestational surrogacy or other forms of assisted reproductive technology (ART) – like the help of an anonymous egg donor.

The LGBTQ families have claimed that this policy is discriminatory and disproportionately impacts same-sex couples and their children.

In Kenya, same sex relationships remain illegal after the High court quashed an appeal by pro – LGBTQ to repeal sections of the constitution that barred the act.
