How Women’s Historic Femicide Vigil went down – Pictures

Dr Fred Matiangi, other state officers and women leaders on Friday held an all-white vigil at the University of Nairobi for victims of femicide in the country.

The event was intended to kick-start a national dialogue on rising cases of gender-based violence, GBV and prejudiced attacks against women and girls by their lovers.

The historic vigil was graced by the high and mighty plus almost all women politicians in the country.

Emotions ran high as the audience listened to the horrendous narrations from families of women who have been butchered and killed in cold blood by their partners.

Some of the notable persons in attendance were CS Margaret Kobia, Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai, Justice Njoki Ndungu, Ida Odinga, several elected leaders among them MPs, Senators and Governors.
