2019 has certainly been Citizen TV’s Features Reporter, Dorcas Wangira’s year.
Barely months after she bagged the highly coveted Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling 2019, Wangira will now be moving to work with a UK-based publication, The Economist.
Wangira took to her Twitter to share the news, reminiscing her career journey.
5 years ago,I was an intern for the first time at the Standard Group .At first it scared and challenged me.But now I am delighted to relive that experience at The Economist in London as the African proverb says "to be reminded even if I already know."

Ms Wangira has evidently been one remarkable journalist, having previously won awards such as the Mohammed Amin Africa Award for her story on maternal health in Samburu County in 2015 and the 2017 Zimeo Excellence in Media Award.
“I realize that all of it was part of the process. Many people see the prize but few can peel the layers and see the process. I am glad I did not give up,” she said.
