Transport Cabinet Secretary CS James Macharia has been put on the spotlight by angry netizens dissatisfied with his leadership, specifically concerning taxi drivers under uber and taxify.
Under the hashtag #SufferingUberTaxifyDrivers, hundreds of drivers and the public have revealed the poor treatment of the workers under those international services.
They have been put for strict regulations to make bonuses or profits, thus overworking them and leading to health issues and family constraints due to lack of enough time together.
They have put forward the human side to the taxi services we love so much. Here are some of their sad revelations:
Transport CS James Macharia is just watching as #SufferingUberTaxifyDrivers get auctioned. He has offered no solutions. Whatever we did to the devil to deserve James Macharia I will never comprehend. It is sad.

Stop blaming competition.. the original problem is that the people determining the price of a Uber trip in Kenya are seated in San Francisco, USA. Who actually don't care whether your kid eats well or not.. #SufferingUberTaxifyDrivers

#SufferingUberTaxifyDrivers came bolt with madness, they never vet drivers, never inspect cars, you get onboarded from comfort of your house. No wonder the many criminals on the app as drivers.

After the driver goes through many certifications good conduct, training any many more, one day the client looks at you and because you are not handsome she gives you a 1 star, what follows is your account being closed you go back to training #SufferingUberTaxifyDrivers

#SufferingUberTaxifyDrivers chap chap drivers are being auctioned left right and center despite driving very small cars. Ask yourself why, the few who are on the road as breaking backs to manage that monthly payment. Very few will repay fully.

I once took a trip from Term drive all the way to Kikuyu at about 8pm, and used waiyaki way, traffic held us for about thirty minutes, when the trip ended there was no increase in fare. The look on the drivers face just saddened.— Mapesa Kuria, OGW. (@kuria_mapesa) May 31, 2019

This Apps should be sued in a court of law for misusing our cars and our youthsWe will sue you for loss of life for drivers who died on duty.
We will sue you for loss of income for the cars auctioned working with your App

If you want to pay low for a taxi then you're not the intended target market. Drivers are not saying the prices to be exorbitantly high, they are saying the prices need to be regulated & reasonable for both parties just the way @LittleRideKE is priced #SufferingUberTaxifyDrivers
