Miguna reveals how Jimi Wanjigi furnished Raila with millions

Miguna Miguna’s come back on Kenyan media was definitely going to bring with it the hard truths that Kenyans were oblivious of, especially on matters to do with the opposition, through its hard core protests against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s to the unprecedented national handshake. And it delivered.

Among the subject matters the Canada based lawyer touched on was tycoon Jimi Wanjigi’s deep rooted relationship with ODM Leader Raila Odinga, especially during the 2017 post election violence.

While it was clear that Mr Wanjigi was sponsoring the ODM party, his loyalty to the party went unquestioned.

This even attracted authorities to his high-end properties, seeking to frustrate his ties with ODM.

Wanjigi soon had to be arrested under claims that guns were found in his homes.

According to Miguna Miguna’s interview with the JKLive Show on Wednesday, Wanjigi was all in for Raila’s swearing in as the People’s President, that he furnished the opposition leader with a 2,5oo dollar pen, equivalent to Sh250,000. The pen was to be used to append signatures during the mock swearing-in.

Miguna further claimed that Wanjigi was to bring him Sh4 million to ‘do some job’ on the day he was arrested and detained by police before his subsequent deportation to Canada.

The politician said the mock swearing-in was plagued by lack of coordination because the opposition leader had developed cold feet.

“They came to the park and did not bring the chair, the oath, the platform, the emblem. In fact, had I not brought the oath, the seal, pen and emblem, he would not have been sworn in. A Bible I had used to swear him in at Karen was missing. The pen that Jimmy Wanjigi had bought for the occasion allegedly costing 2,500 dollars (Sh250,000) was also missing, which means they were not ready for it,” he told the TV anchor.

“I had drafted a speech which Mr Odinga had told me to share with Dennis Onyango and Winnie Odinga. We were not to leave the park for State House but were to stay at the park and hold a carnival protest for as long as it took until Uhuru surrendered. Raila however left immediately after the event. I had to jump into Winnie’s car in order to get to Karen,” added Miguna.
