Deputy President William Ruto is in trouble as the rebellion of his Tanga Tanga camp is gaining momentum.

Amid claims that members from his camp are facing humiliation through the Interior Ministry,  a notable number of MPs are distancing themselves from the camp.

Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichungwa is the latest.

The political frontier member Ruto’s camp has now has distanced himself from the Tangatanga faction of the ruling Jubilee Party.

Ichung’wa claims that he is not aware of the existence of any group with such a name ( Tanga Tanga Movement ).

“No, I am a member of the Jubilee Party. I don’t know about Tangatanga movement,” he said.

Ichungwá was speaking on News Night on Citizen TV, Tuesday night, the MP, despite appearing close to the DP, said that he is not a member of Tangatanga and would rather be called a Jubilee member.

The Tangatanga group consists Jubilee parliamentarians in support of Deputy President William Ruto and his 2022 presidential bid.

The MP proceeded to weigh-in on the 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga which it is clear it has not been received well by Ruto, who has repeatedly accused Raila of coming on board with a hidden motive.

Ichungwa reiterated the remarks, claiming that though Uhuru is sincere in the his to reunite the nation, Raila harbours some insincerity. He said that Raila is not honest as Uhuru would like him to be.

“The president means what he says and does what he says. On the other hand he is dealing with someone who he expects to be honest but that is not the case,” he said.

It would be a lie for Ichung’wa  to claim that he isn’t aware of the Tanga Tanga Movement as it is early this year that the vocal Mp claimed that he was receiving death threats from an anonymous man over his involvement with Deputy President faction of Jubilee tagged Tanga tanga. The MP himself shared the clip.

In a different event, the MP  told off the  ‘Anti-Ruto camp’ for criticising Ruto’s behaviour of donating in church.
