Maina and Kingangi in trouble for discussing sensitive matter on Live radio

The rate at which mainstream media is discussing ‘irrelevant’ and uncalled for topics is alarming and the KFCB and CAK need to come in between.

Discussing sexual and illicit content that incites people against each other under watershed as stipulate by the Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK) has been seen in social media and the mainstream media.

Popular urban radio Classic 105 is on the spot for allegedly discussing illicit content on air that aims at inciting men against women.

Classic 105 is widely known in Nairobi and its outskirts for its content and discussion hosted by the controversial Maina Kageni and his co-host Mwalimu Churchill alias King’ang’i.

The show is all about relationships stories and audience call to give their opinions and thoughts on the topic being discussed.

It is also popular because of female content on the morning show and Maina Kageni has been branded ‘Women rep’ because of his ‘girlish’ thoughts and also the controversial rumors that he is gay.

Through Twitter, a netizen has criticized the show for tweeting content that is sensitive to the public. The tweet was deleted by the station but some of the netizens had screenshots of the same.

The station captioned a picture “Guys, what’s the worst a woman could do to make you end her life?”

The question posed raised reactions from the insensitive content aired on live radio.

This follows the recent violence against women that was seen through university students killing their girlfriends because of their differences in relationships and even when rejected.

Mtaani show was suspended on March by Homeboyz radio after its presenter commented with bad faith on the death of Ivy Wangeci who was a Moi University student killed by alleged boyfriend.

Many commuters in Nairobi are forced to listen to this station on their way to work because it is played by a bigger percentage of town buses.
