Former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has come out to defend his recent move to defect from Ford Kenya to William Ruto’s Jubilee party days after Musalia Mudavadi’s nasty remarks against Luyha Leaders associated with Dp William Ruto.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi had over the weekend blasted the Luyha leaders warning them against being second options to political giants who are out to use them.
Mudavadi had torn DP William Ruto into pieces calling him a political con who believes in herding politicians like cattle using his deep pockets, for selfish gains. Musalia in a remark directed at Boni Khalwale observed that the Western Leaders were proving too cheap for any aspiring politician who will lure, use then dump them later.
“They are coming for cheap political acquisitions, they have realized if you want to acquire a cheap political leader, go to western. Ukitaka ng’ombe ya siasa kwa bei rahisi, enda western. This is what is happening. These leaders don’t talk of a program, they just ask people to line up to get handouts” said Musalia Mudavadi
Hon Mudavadi…this has been the case since 1963…can you change it? Good luck and Allah's blessing… @MusaliaMudavadi @KBonimtetezi @Wetangulam @Mosotah @davidmakali1 pic.twitter.com/H1lb0aCBUO

But in a retaliatory Tweet directed at Mudavadi’s comment, Khalwale told the ANC leader to hold his growing anger on the Deputy President William Ruto stating that if his frequent invitations of Ruto to the Western region will bring the Luhya nation into the next government, then he, Khalwale will have succeeded in what Mudavadi had failed in the last 15 years.
@MusaliaMudavadi, I've noted ua graphic expression of anger at @WilliamsRuto's frequent visits to our region on my invitation. Man, if our region forms government with WSR, I'll have succeeded where u failed in 2002, 2007, 2013 & 2017 pic.twitter.com/MRTV4KQCzZ

He said it is unfortunate that the said politicians bribe leaders from the region so that they can support the current regime.
“My Luhya brothers someone has stolen billions, he is given full police escort and you come running as you cheer them while the same police offering escort comes and pursue our innocent youth trying to make a living to bribe them,” he said.
Analysts observe Mudavadi is now becoming worried about Ruto’sgrowing popularity and influence in his own home turf of Western Kenya and is employing all means to make his dominance in the region felt.
Musalia was currently quoted saying that the leaders are just after Ruto’s money and will dump him in 2022 once they have exhausted his money and instead supported Musalia’s Presidency.
Western Kenya has never had one voice during general elections since the year 2007 when they came together to vote Raila Odinga under ODM. Khalwale now opines that if his recent associations with William Ruto will propel the Luyha nation next to the presidency, then he is ready to deliver what the region’s kingpin Musalia Mudavadi has failed to achieve for long
